Whats gonna happen????

Does anyone know whats goin on with Nextel partners with this merger. Nothing is being mentioned about the partners market.

Hey, excellent question my friend. This is what will happen with partners. Partners have what’s called a put option in place for reasons like this, i.e. having Nextel be bought or Nextel buying. What happens is after the merger is oked, Nextel partner’s will either implement the put option or wont input the put option, however, according to Nextel partner’s they want to implement that put option. Now, shareholders have to vote in the affirmative for this and then there will probably be a 4 or so month long appraising situation that will go on to determine their true value plus control premium which sprint-Nextel HAS to pay for. wonder about the indirect channel...will we exist? I saw that Radio Shack will be selling Nextel. They had fun trying to explain Verizon...can't wait to see them handle labor intesive products such as Nextel...

i think that indirect channels will exist for now, but i dont think they will in the future.

dont worry about radio shack, becuase they say all kinds of things when it comes to the wireless industry. i wouldnt worry about them and just do what you have been doing and you will be fine.

Indirect will never go away. It is has a lower cost/subscriber than direct retail stores.

Many have tried and they always come back to indirect as a key facet to strong distribution.

indirect could go away, especially if someone else takes over. indirect is a good business becuase it lowers the carrier's cpga but what if the carrier doesnt want those indirect dealers? that could happen, but as i mentioned to that other person indirect will be staying for now, but in the future it could go away.
