Is there a simple way to completely delete my address book and calendar in the Nextel Blackberry 7520 rather than trying to delete each item (address) individually?

Thanks!

Though not the news that I was hoping for, I appreciate the reply.

Gotta dump Nextel and get another BBerry and was hoping for a simple way to delete old and personal data.

Thanks. About a year ago I dumped all but one of my Windows computers for Mac's so I can't use desktop manager. I did buy a product though called pocketmac which I think will do the same thing, thanks!

As for dumping Nextel, while I LOVE my Verizon service, truthfully the Nextel direct connect and email works pretty well. The phone service however has declined terribly in my area. Nextel created two seperate trouble tickets over 5 weeks and closed them without ever talking to me! When they created the second one they assured me that they would call to discuss before closing it but they didn't.

In talking to one of our local police officers (like everywhere our PD, FD and EMS) use Nextel for the D/C. They too notice the decline in phone...

Welcome my friend. 🙂 Anything to do to help I will be glad to.

Nextel has a re-banding plan going on now so many people in many areas will experience some problems. Here in Massachusetts, we have been having small problems due to the re-banding situation. Where are you located?

As to the trouble tickers, you need to be patient with that, and you need to tell them that you are having many problems. In addition, do not say that you’re having problems in-doors, because they won’t guarantee in building coverage. I would keep on trying and try to talk to a supervisor to see if you can find the underlying cause of it. If they aren’t trying what so ever then perhaps you should seek another carrier.

Another cell site but no new ...

I am located in eastern (Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton) Pennsylvania.

As for being patient with the trouble tickets, its really hard as they keep closing them without speaking to them. We talked to 2 different supervisors and nothing changed.

To your point, having witnessed first-hand the trials and tribulations of Verizon becoming Verizon from Bell Atlantic and their other companies, I do believe that Nextel/Sprint will also face many challenges. What concerns me is two different carriers coming together and trying to meld two different technologies (iDen and CDMA) as well as the usual merger (accounting, operations, etc.) stuff.

Thanks again, Scott

Yea that is good. I am not too familiar with your area, but I am sure it is decent enough.

Yea, well then talk to a supervisor. Talk to corporate and try to harass them. Loll.

I do not think sprint-Nextel will be facing some difficulties. The only problems that think will happen is with their affiliates.

The two companies’ management goes very well together and I think they will do extremely well because both of them have a very good focus on the future and love the wireless industry.

With the 2 technologies of course that is a big problem but they already have the works in place to mold some of the ideN network with spectrum, towers, and some subscribers (if they chose to move over but it isn’t forced) in the 07 time frame...

You are probably right. Admitedly part of my "problem" is that I am a HUGE VZW fan. I wasn't always, but in the last 24 months or so, they have really impressed me. As a result, I tend to compare anyone to them.

i actually have an idea that is if you have the desktop manager.

it will be helpful if you have downloaded the desktop manager for the blackberry. You will tether the unit and then open up the desktop manager. Now please choose the back up and restore Icon, then choose advanced. Now a window should open and then populate all the data bases in the unit over on the right hand side. Just locate, highlight and choose clear for the address book and the calendar. This will wipe both clean.

hope that helps...
