Nextel Service Issues
First let me start by saying that I really like my "Beep Beep" service as my employees call it. It comes in very handy for quick succinct conversations. My problem is the service level of Nextel is terrible and it is making me nuts. I travel all around the country and the service levels are shaky. This summer alone I have been in Upstate New York, Knoxville, TN, Fort Wayne, IN Myrtle Beach, SC and Colubus, OH all with major problems. I can stand in one spot and have no service move three feet and have full service. This causes big problems when I am on the phone and I go into a dead spot and I lose the call. I have started carrying a prepaid Cingular phone because this is the only way I can get solid service. I was hoping the Merger would so...

I just want to state an overview that Nextel lacks a little bit in spectrum, but they continue to build out towers rapidly. I also wanted to say that Nextel is going through a rebanding planning which will help ease interference which is a very key problem because it hurts signals so as its going through the waves it will hurt service in those areas.
Yea, the 730 is the worst phone ever, and I think you will have more success with phones like the 205, 860, 530, 710, and things of that nature. (Do not get the 830 either).
Well with the merger, I cannot really comment on many things, but there will be dual mode phones, and co locations of towers. In addition, you can switch to sprint if you chose to. Also, try if boost mobile w...

Man, you told him absolutly nothing. If you're going to continue being a shill for a company, don't try to be Mr. Helpful....it just doesn't ring true. The need for rebanding was due to Nextel's interference with emergency services, NOT emergency services interference with Nextel. Get your facts straight. Tell him that Nextel's coverage is not that great. They are working on building it out, etc. If he can't wait for those things, switch to Sprint, pay an extra $5.00 and get unlimited MTM so he can continue to talk to all the members of his family who have Nextel service that works how they need it to work. End of story.
P.S. Everyone needs to understand that Nextel18 is an attention whore and a shill. He will give you the company ...

It's not the same thing as NEXTEL has never received detrimental interference from Public Safety systems. It has always been documented as NEXTEL and the "A" side cellular carriers as the cause of the interference to the PS radio system users in the NPSPAC and non-NPSPAC bands.
