Hello all I just recently started nextel service. While the reception is not as nice as my employee cingular phone I love teh PTT feature. My whole team started service rather than send hundreds of text messages. My question for you all is when I sign into my account I am getting bombarded with merger information. When I call care or the store they mention because I am with Nextel partners i am not part of the merger. ANyone know what will happen to my coverage in major cities then? Will partners ever be part of the merger? I was thinking of trading in my I730 for the I830. Is there any draw backs to the I830? thans

I sell phones for T-Mobile, Nextel, and Sprint and to be honest with you the i730 is the best color screen phone that Nextel offers. It has better battery life than the i830, better antenna strength than the i830, plus it's more durable. Hope this helps.

*cough* *cough*

730=bad

I have the 730 and have the same complaint that most do with this phone...reception.

Here is the skinny. It performs within the criteria that Nextel and Motorola wants for transmit and recieve...but alot of other Motorola IDEN phones way outperform this phone...

Yes, that is true. You are apart of the Nextel partner’s market and you are NOT part of the merger.

“ANyone know what will happen to my coverage in major cities then?”

Well, since Nextel partners control it the coverage should stay the same, but if partner’s increases by building towers then that will increase coverage.

“Will partners ever be part of the merger?”

It depends what the shareholders do. if they vote yes for this put option, then with in 110 days or so there is a valuation period and then that numbe...

Poor reception. I have had numerous people that upgraded from the i1000 to this phone and lost reception in areas they once had. They then in turn changed to the i305 and got the reception back. Across all the phones...
