Cingular and its meak attempt at PTT

I just head in the Cingular forum that their PTT is going to take 7 seconds to CONNECT!

and they are saying that it's because they are on EDGE not UMTS lol

oh and the reason that nextel connects so fast is because they have a smaller network LMAO


those cingy yuppies don't like admiting when they are out of their league, do they?

Wasn't Cingular's PTT solution running on Kodiak like Alltel??? I could be wrong.

yes but it is over gsm. so it can't possably be as good as alltel

how is alltel doing with it? they're not a carrier around here so i don't know much about them besides that they exist.

i mean, the technology itself is Kodiak's, it shouldnt matter if it's deployed over GSM or CDMA.

has nothing to do with edge or umts they will be using kodiak over their voice.

Cingular's PTT is over their voice channels, not data, so EDGE has absolutely nothing to do with it.

That seven seconds initial connect time is the maximum initial connect time. The minimum connect time is around two seconds, and the average initial connect time is three to four seconds.

The latency between chirps on the Kodiak platform actually beats even Nextel's.

So that is what you call meak? 🤣
