Can you activate a phone on the Nextel side w/o getting a DC#, ie: xxx*xx*xxxxx?

Thinking about porting my landline phone number over but don't need DC. Didn't know if this was possible now that Sprint own's them...

No. All iDEN phones must have a DC number. It doesn't mean you have to use it or give it out.

Can you block it locally as to not incur charges for wrong PTT calls?

If its a newer phone (3-digit) yes you can set in the options that anyone that isn't on your DC list/phone book can't DC you.

It's controlled under "Profiles" and it's called "Call Filter. and allows which calls to let through.
