A friend of mine just had her bank account charged
about $270. The problem is that they don't even own a cell phone. Who can she contact to fix this? And what will it take.

Yes from nextel.. I think that she did and they are giving her a run around. She also talked with somebody from Nextel (I think)and they told her that they couldn't find her or hubbys name.

Definitely call the bank back. I work at a bank and if a customer comes in with an unusual charge on their account, the bank is required to look into it and get back to the person within a certain amount of time. It's one of those federal laws that banks have to follow.

yea, i have to agree with DCA on this situation...

the bank needs to investigate all of those kinda fraud cases they cant say "we can not do anything for you" or else the bank would be liable.

what bank is this? lol.

it sounds like identity theft to me.. check out http://www.consumer.gov/idtheft/ .

file complaints here; https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/widtpubl$.startup? Z_ORG_CODE=PU03

hope that helps 🙂

Have her go to the bank again, if they won't do anything for her tell her to make a police report right there in their lobby. They will get the message as the cop can interview the bank staff right there on location.

Bad PR for the bank right there with customers in clear view of what is going on and if that doesn't help tell her to contact the local TV station. Businesses hate when the cameras show up.
