Currently i have Cingular and i am unhappy with my phone. It is always breaking and i am sick of sending it in to get it replaced. I am considering dropping my service and switching to Nextel. I do a lot of text messaging and i want to make sure that i get good phone signals. Does anybody have some advice about whether or not i should make the switch? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Coverage depends on where you live/travel. Check coverage maps online to check.
Unlimited text messaging is $14.99.

i think if i were you especially if you want text messages is to pick sprint's side (cdma) instead of nextel's iden becuase sprint's side (cdma) has an amazing messaging system and 1xrtt (now ev-do) in many areas and thats better then nextel's iden slow data speeds.

so go to sprint's side. 🙂

Just remember that on the Sprint side you will have to dial in to receive your text messages, they will not be delivered directly to you phone like you had with the other company.

Yes they will be delivered right to your phone. Sprint has had sms for 2 years now and no phones still use short mail.
