might be getting screwed by return policy!!
👿
this past december i ported out from cingular and tried nextel.. well i was unhappy with the coverage after 3 days and returned my phone and ported my number back to cingular. now yesterday i recieve a collection letter from nextel to the tune of $318.02, not once did i recieve a bill from them. so i called today and questioned the charges for 3 days of service. the customer care rep credited me for everything but my 3 days of service and the 36 dollar act fee. now my question is should i be charged the act fee for having it only 3 days. with cingular if you cancel in 3 days its like you were never there and owe nothing. please any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well what do you think an act fee is? The three days of service is fair to pay. If you had your own network and it costs you $55 to activate a customer and they cancel would you like to lose money every time they did that? You have to pay your sales people as well.
...
that is correct on the part of the rep. an acct was activated under your names. therefore the activation fee stands.

$36 plus 3 days of service. Hardly worth getting that upset about, pay it and move on. Not worth the effort fighting it...
...
Not true. With Cingular you would have to pay for the three days worth of service.
...
you are due back the activation fee.

activation fees are usually non-refundable, but call in again and provide your paperwork... so you got charged for the cancellation fee, pro-rated amount, activation fee, taxes, fees. etc and came away with just $36 & 3days pro-rating? I think you've barked up this tree enough.
