I currently am considering switching to Nextel. I am with Verizon ( Americas best network), i have been with for 8 years but ever since the upgraded to th 2G network my calls are not as clear, I drop a lot of calls, and for 1950 mhz to be stonger than the 850 they were at before I can't get signal in most buldings or at work on the shop floor. My former and current employers use Nextel phones and they seem 2 work great everywhere. Here are my main reaons 4 wanting 2 switch.
1. Nextel offers a discount to employees at my current employer and I get no service anywhere on my Verizon phone at work.
2. My girlfriend has NEXTEL and with the 5 dollar a mont unlimited mobile 2 mobile and the 10 dollar nights starting at 6 pm I should save a ton of...

8 years with verizon? wow. things have changed for them in 8 years but same with other carriers. (in a positive way and negative ways)

1.9ghz does not penetrate better nor travels faster then 800mhz freq. carriers can avoid some of those problems by powering up the towers a little bit (which the fcc wont allow) and/or install towers and/or repeaters on top of the building or very close to other buildings.

yea nextel offers some nice discounts for some companies, but sprint offers a little bit better discounts. (not sure why it is but thats the case)

does your verizon phone have 800/1.9ghz on it? (that could hurt or help your indoor coverage.. if its 1.9ghz well i already touched on that a bit up above)

with regards to the 870...

My POS Verizon LG VX600 is supposed to pick up CDMA 850 or CDMA 1950, but the only signal i ever get is 1X or 1S-2000 1.9g. The reason i was considering the 870 is because it is bluetooth. How do the 850 and the 860 perform as far as RF signal. I have heard the 860 was somewhat of a problematic phone, although i can't substantiate that rumor. Is it true that there is a bluetooth adapter to make non-blutooth phones work with bluetooth headsets. I appreciate all your help so far and any further help is greatly appreciated.
