Transfering ringtones
I'm about to upgrade my nextel phone. How do I put my ringtones from my old phone to my new one? Thx in advance

i'm fairly sure you can't, unless there is a way to do it with the SIM. i would check ahead of time if they offer you the ability to re-download them and have them credit you back for them, assuming you bought them through nextel.

you could go to a dealer and have them copy your sim card. if they are stored to the sim they should copy over. we do it for people all the time to copy phone books to new sim cards. so ring tones may be the same way

copying the SIM card wouldnt work because the ring tones arent stored on there, its just the phone book

there is no way to transfere them. however here is your loop hole if you dont mind lying to your provider LOL nextel will allow you to re downlaod your ringtones and credit you the charges if your phone has been replaced throught a service center ie a defective phone. you call care tell them you took your phone in for repair, they couldnt fix it, they upgraded u. if they try to tell u know, escalate to a supervisor. sprint is currently pushing a " warm and fuzzy" customer experience. they will not fight you over a 10.00-20.0 credit. they will just give u a courtesy credit and send you on your way

you can buy the software and cable for you nextel phones and use that to transfer your ringers. if the tones are locked or protected by nextel then you'll need a p2k commander. i've never owned a nextel but i did it with ALL my moto phones and motomodders.net if you join allows you to download a p2k commander for free!
