Im just curious how long you all think the Nextel i870 will be around...??
Also, how is Nextel's Internet Service? Like their $5.00 a month web service..?

Nextel's data is OK, but it pales with other carriers' speeds. Nextel's high points are very good cellular and Direct Connect quality, but though the web service works, it isn't so much worth writing home about.

Well, from my personal experience, most of the time you can't even tell that it's a cell phone. My i530 sounds as good as a landline. I suppose it all varies by location, but Nextel generally has great coverage almost everywhere. Mine in particular, even if I have no bars of signal, it still holds strong, whereas Alltel and Verizon would be very choppy and distorted.

1. voice
2. direct connect
dont pick nextel for this reason;
1. data.

speeds are too slow and sometimes frustrating. it has been better lately with the upgrade of the interface and speed but dont pick nextel becuase of data.

870 should be around as long as there are sales and that is one of the hotest phone that nextel has.
