Blackberry Pearl for NEXTEL USERS?
OK... so WHEN are we going to get this for us nextel users.... with iPhone coming, nextel/RIM should at least offer the pearl to its users....or some all new Email centric phone for us since now my 7100i is looking like an old "Clunker". I may see Cingular/At&t in my future. Will miss you direct connect. 😉

Iden phones have to be bigger. I sincerely doubt they will start making any stylish phones for nextel.

Considering iden is on the way out, I wouldn't expect RIM to develop it for iden. You may see it on CDMA Sprint, but that's it.

on the way out? yeah in 2012. That is 5 yrs to make money off it. Come on. How many people keep phones these days. Not to mention how many phones get upgraded. They are like computers. SO in 5 yrs you know how many phones they could come out with and sell!!!

They say 2012, but how many Nextel customers are already leaving. Their service has been in the toilet as of late and I doubt there'll be that many customers around by then. Aside from hybrid phones, I also doubt you will see many more iden only phones. With all these factors why would RIM waste their time designing a new phone for a shrinking market. Face it the future is not iden or Nextel, but with the emerging next gen data networks.
