can you stop using the work "buy"? alltel has way too many assets and is much too profitable of a company to simply be bought out by any of the other wireless giants. if any type of transaction occurs, it would be a merger. thanks.

I am an Alltel associate, and with over 10 million subscribers, and possible talks of taking over Centennial Wireless, I doubt a merger would happen. Verizon has mad Alltel 3 offers in the past 4 years, and Alltel rejected each one.
As a result, Verizon will not be resigning it's roaming agreement with Alltel (so Sprint did instead.) Verizon and Alltel would be an easy merger, but Verizon hampers its phones too much.
