I posted this on another thread. And I typed a lot so I figured I would paste it under its own thread so it gets seen. I can't reply while I'm at work later today. But I'll check back in after the grind and try and answer any questions, or debates started up.

Keep in mind, this is NOT Alltel's viewpoint, but mine. And it should NOT be take that anything here is anything more than internal rumors (minus a couple public knowledge number things)

Enjoy! 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁

Contrary to popular belief. Its not LIKELY to be bought out.

Alltel has invested billions of dollars into network development, phone upgrades, EV-DO network sharing agreements and other things.

With the sale of its home phone service...

Oh, also.

IF verizon bought Alltel. Good luck getting it past the FCC. It would give them ownership over a network of towers across the Midwest. NOONE has that coverage and any small-medium carrier would need to deal exclusively with Verizon for roaming rights in a plethora of states.

Alltel controls the midwest. Verizon the coasts.

It COULD happen, but i doubt it.

That's exactly what analysts at Bloomberg said!!!!!! I don't think the FCC will allow VZW to purchase Alltel. It would be considered a monopoly which is ILLEGAL.

There would have to be lots of divestiture in the midwest, but it could happen.

I agree, however, FCC is still kicking themselves about the ATT thing, which no other big merger is going to go through easily after that.

Actually, monopolies aren't illegal per se, they are usually regulated.

But in this case I would agree, the FCC isn't likely to give this baby a blessing without dragging out the carving knife and making a bloody mess.

Not "technically" illegal, but come on, it's more or less illegal. How often do they let them get close to a monopoly? That would make the gov look stupid and they can't have that. I don't think monopolies are unethical. If you have it all, you deserve it. **** the little guy. They all start at the same place.

Enough with Bloomberg because what they usually say are not correct. Think logically. You obviously know that when Cingular and AT Wireless came together there were divestitures of a few billion dollars based on selling spectrum, towers, and customers. Therefore, in this case, you know it will be a lot more as the caps will be exceeded on every level when it comes to spectrum, towers and customers.

Monopolies are not illegal. Your reasoning is not sound at all.

Awesome response. Thanks. Alltel should fire turds like foneguy and hire more people like you. I really didn't think they would sell, but more likely a merger. The only person who knows for sure is foneguy because he has all of the connections. I dream about being him.

🙄

You secure 5 businesses of 100+ lines each and I'm sure they'd be willing to, (this is within the first 60 days of this year). 😉

Also, I never claimed that I know for certain what's going on, however, I've told you that we'd know as soon as we did. You insisited that you want to know what's going on, and you were given the answer, which you didn't like. Had you paid ANY attention at all to the other 3000 posts on the subject, you'd have gotten the same answers that you just got. So newsflash, you're still not asking the right question.

The right question is this: When will we hear something official about the potential sale/merger?

The answer to that is May 1st. That's the date getting around right now. I do ...

Do you really think I need an answer? Do you really think I care about this as much as you and Nextfag? I really don't give a **** what happens. I might lose money, I might make money. It's no skin off my dick. I don't peddle "cellular" bullshit. Did I really "insist" on knowing what was going on? Did I say I didn't like your answer? Did I really say that? Your answer was fine, you don't know ****. It was your lame ass attitude in your response that was gay, one that will limit you to a lifetime of selling business lines. Congrats!!!! I'm looking at a 2007 40' Cigarette w/ 1000hp at the moment. It's worth more than your house. How many "business" lines will you need to sell before you can "look" at something of that magnitude? If I'm looking...
