I work for Alltel and won a contest and get to pick out any phone I want for my employee line including smart phones (I would have to pay $20 more a month for a smart phone plan)

I'd go with the Treo 700w or the PPC if it were a smart phone.
If you chose any other phone, the 8600 is nicer than the U520, but because of the keypad I'd take a long look at the U520.
My personal choice is the phone that I use, Moto E815.

I'm also an Alltel Sr. W.C., and I've had numerous phones/PDA's and I've NEVER had to win a contest, nor add extra ($$$) features to my acct to use them...You'd prob want the Q if you're in an EV-DO market
