Does it matter what brand of phone you have when it comes to bluetooth and ringtones? I dont know much about how it works, but I do know how to make my own ringtones for my kyocera slider kx5 phone and I always have friends asking me to send them ringtones. The only way I have discovered so far is to send it as a text/pic message and they save the audio file. The only problem is the ringtone has to be under 200kb to be sent through a text message on my phone.

If the phone does not have the OBEX (Object Exchange) profile, then you can't Bluetooth ringtones.

That profile allows you to send any type of file through Bluetooth.
My old Nokia 6255i had OBEX. I was able to send ringtones, videos, pictures, anything over Bluetooth to another phone with OBEX.

As far as I know, there aren't any new Alltel phones that have the OBEX profile.
Mostly because the company doesn't want to make it easy for you to get free stuff.
They figure that most people don't know how to get around it anyway, so the only choice you have is to purchase ringtones.
