Texting to international numbers is the same as the normal rate or text package I believe.

It takes minutes to send any data, but it is minimal.

Themps man, you live in a fantasy world.

International texting rates apply. See Alltels website or customer care and they can give you standardized rates based on country.

Fantasy world? No, I don't. International texting does not cost any more then normal texting. The biggest problem that one could run into is the international carrier and Alltel that you are sending the message to hasn't worked it a communication method.

It costs Alltel zero dollars more to send a text message to an international number then it does to send it to a domestic. To put it in simpletons terms it is the equivalent to sending an email for alltel or any other carrier. You send it, it goes to a server, the server sends it to the number.

actually, "you send it, it goes to alltel's server, then the server sends it to the international carriers server, then it gets sent to the phone.

"With International Text Messaging from Alltel, you can send text messages to people around the globe. Now friends, family and business associates on a participating carrier's network are just a text away. And it costs the same as texting someone next door. So don't let distance keep you from staying in touch. Spread the word to the world with International Text Messaging today."

Another little quirk with texting...you can text message while roaming, solid/paid roaming and it does not cost any extra either. There is a chance that the roaming partner doesn't have a data network or ability to send it though. But this comes in handy if you are ever in Canada and have to get a message out and don't want to make a call. Although they do have the North America plans now.....
