Alltel Selling?
Is there any truth to what I'm seeing about Alltel selling out soon? If so, can somebody post a link to something official. I just resigned two contracts with them and this is very unpleasent news to me 😢 . Hopefully if it is true I'll be able to get out of the contracts.

I guess what i'm most concerned with is how all this will affect me, the customer. Will there be any huge changes or is it still too early to tell?

Probably not any changes for now..... But the press releases keep talking about something happening in 08, like april ish...... But nothing at the moment.

It would appear to me that Alltel is trying to position themselves to merge with another provider in the next couple of years. Even though Alltel is in a good financial position there is a big gap between them and the next wireless company (meaning customer base). This buyout may help in making them more attractive to another company or in giving them more leverage in Alltel overtaking someone else. Again, too early to tell.

So in 08 when the spectrum is auctioned off you will be pleased to discover your Alltel phone is actually made from hydrogenated corn byproduct and can be used as a taco shell or a tortilla chip (if broken into pieces). This is a good thing too, since Alltel will cease to exist, but everyone knows a taco is better than a phone service any day.
