I purchased an lg AX8600 about 2 weeks ago. The battery only held a charge for about 6 hours. This was with only 2 or 3 short calls. I complained and the battery was replaced. I still had the same problem with the replacement battery. After a third trip to Altel, they replaced the phone. The new phone is not staying charged more than 7 hours.
Has anyone else had this problem. I plan to try and return the phone tomorrow, but it has been 18 days and they told me returns could only be made within 14 days.
I really like the phone, other than the battery problem. Should I try one more time to get a phone with a good battery?????? 👀 👀 👀

there is an issue with batery life on some of the 8600's. Atleast they talked about it in our meeting last week. The temporary fix is
'Reprogram MIN & MDN on the handset to 00000000 and SID to 00. Then program the customers MIN, MDN, and SID back to their number. This should cause the handset to display "EV" instead of "D" and the battery issue should be resolved. LG and Alltel are still investigating a permanent fix.'

The quote is directly from the ops document.
Be sure you know your mdn, min and sid are before you do this. Programming instructions are as follows... menu,0(zero),000000(six zeros), ok, mdn, min, sid, ok, ok.
That should do it.
