im going to be traveling here soon, i had a quick question
the flickering roaming lightj-does that mean your roaming but you dont pay roaming charges
and the steady one, does it mean your roaming and you will pay roaming charges???
or is it backwards?????
...
That depends on what phone you have most of them you are OK if you are flashing but there are a few that it is the opposite. What phone do you have?
...
i have the lg ax8600 green
...
The LG 8600 has a steady roaming indicator when you are NOT incurring roaming charges. If it is flashing you are getting charges. I am double checking but I am almost certain that it right.
...
Yeap double checked it a steady R is within preferred network no charge. Solid R is roaming and you are incurring charges.LG 8600 is the only phone like that all the rest are opposite.
...
Actually all of the phones are like that! As long as the R and Triangle is blinking you will not be charged Roaming as long as you are in your network or have the National Plan
...
No LG 8600 Is just the opposite, if it is flashing you ARE being charged.
...
I've had the LG8600 since march; because of where I am located, the R has ALWAYS been blinking and I've never been charged roaming fees. My old phone was the exact same way. So I'm pretty sure if it's blinking it's okay.
...
Yes, BLINKING "R" is free roam, solid "R" is PAID roam....
...
Actually, I work for Alltel and I can personally tell you the truth! All you have to remember about the blinking/steady light----blinking equals friendly and the steady equals not so friendly! That is what I was taught in training!!!
...
Just typo-ed a steady R no charge, blinking is charged.
...
got two diffrenet answers from alltel too. now im so confused. is this by any chance on the manuel??????
...
I have the LG 8600 too and it blinks sometimes and havnt been charged yet and I work at alltel too and as long as it is blinking then you will not be charged roaming and that is on all phones. The only way you will be charged roaming while the R or Triangle is blinking is if you have the greater freedom plan and go outside those five states.
...
😁 yes your right according to alltel when its blinking i get no charges. im in the national plan 900.
it was blinking today when i went out of town--there was a spot that it was steady.
i thought that the only thing i wouldnt like was how alltel had roaming charges--but i get it . . . .
today while traviling during the night my our car went out-- 😈 my hubby wanted to flag someone down to help us, but being with the kids and it was night i didnt think it was a good idea-- but my uncle was just thirty minutes away--i asked him to call him from his phone because i was roaming (tmobile) guess what, no bars at all-- 😳

another thing before i made the call it the r had just came on steady for a sec, then started blinking while making the call. so lets see when i get my bill for those 3 minutes. lol-- 😳 for the first time my hubby couldnt say "dont you wish you had a sim card"lol
...
You should be okay if it was blinking. Sometimes they seem to go into a "sleep mode" and they blink really really slowly.....i guess it's better then blinking when it's actually solid....

I rather pay 200 a month in roaming fees right now then deal with sprint. As you can see jungle I am pissed off at sprint. I think they are truly losing touch with allot of people. I hope they do get bought out by the Korean company. In 4 years they can't get their sh*t together and seems to be getting worse. Great service lousy CS. And I prefer CS above price. I will pay more for good CS. And I do have to say Alltel has been great.
I was told I get a military discount and that all I had to do was put my military email in my online profile and thats it. I called as I am used to sprint and it takes a good 30 min call if your lucky to get the discount. She laughed and said nope thats it we try to make it easy on the customer. I said wel...
