Insurance Problems

Hopefully someone can help me out on this one...I had a LG 245 and someone stole it. The person had called me and tried to get me to buy it from them, which I was going to, but they played a game with me for a month. Well I called in to do an insurance claim and was denied because I only had thirty days to make one. Now I am stuck without a phone and no help from anyone. Alltel doesn't offer used phones for customer's and there only solution was to sign up a pre paid account and put that phone on my postpaid. Does anyone know a way to get around this? I don't want to have to buy one at full retail or get scammed on a used one via pawn shop, ebay, or some hole in the wall cell phone shop. Please Help?!?!?!

First of all, the rep that offered to sell you a phone to activate on your prepay is commiting commision fraud. They do have refurbished phones in the store that they can sell to you. Unfotunately there is policy that we have to follow and if we don't we end up repots, blah blah blah. You do have the option of activating another line, purchasing a refurbished or purchase one at full retail. If you have an old phone mybe you can reactivate that.

It's not commission fraud if the customer simply activates a pre-paid phone and then switches it to his postpay account. I've done it a couple times in a pickle to get a phone in mid contract without paying full retail. What you choose to do with your prepay phone is totally up to you...

Thanks for all your help...I don't know if it is fraud or not but it sounds like something that is better for the agent than for me as a customer. Hopefully I will get it figured out.
