I really would like to get that PPC-6800. But that whole needing a smart choice plan is killing me. Is there anyway a rep would sale me this phone on a 1 or 2 year without the data plan? I've been loyal customer for about 6 years and my dad since 1993. Sorry if this is a repeating question!

I don't work there, but I doubt they will. Unless you buy it at retail. If you buy it at retail then you don't need a smartchoice plan. You can use an add on for 29.99 to the other ones. In fact I may be putting mine on eBay just because I got it for an awesome deal from letstalk.

Why would you get this phone w/o a data plan, kinda defets the whole point of it. I have the addon data plan, you don't have to get a smart choice plan, just something with data,

The reason I dont wanna data plan is because the phone comes with wifi. I goto USC and the whole campus is wifi and also my job is 2. But i didn't know u could just get a data add on. Can you just add it on for like a month or 2 and then drop it like verizon?

They will not allow you to activate the ppc with out a data plan. 2 reasons why. it's commission for the agent and two when you sign up to an agreement(you are agreeing to the data plan even if you later decide to change phones to a lg. You would still have to pay for the data plan since you got a special price for the smart phone. Sorry for the bad news

Their data plans are not that high for what they do. But yeah.....

But you can take off and add on the 29.99 feature whenever you'd like. But it order to buy a smartphone at the discounted price, you have be on a smartchoice plan for length of the contract. But if you buy it off ebay or retail then you do not need to worry about data. They cannot force you to use data just because you have a smartphone.
