I currently have the 6800 but was considering taking it back and getting the razr2, the reasons I would like the razr is because of size. But i would miss the fact that it is so easy to text on the 6800. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Keep the 6800.

The Razr2 (V9m) has software issues. Motorola is aware of the issues and are developing a new software for the handset.

I had a woman bring her daughter into the Alltel store I work in this afternoon with the 6800 purchased 10 days ago. She wanted the keyboard the 6800 has, but was upset with the fact that she had to be on a smart choice plan. She said she would have rather had the Strobe, to which I promptly told her it was a discontinued phone we didn't have any longer. Since the only phones with QWERTY keyboards at Alltel right now are ONLY the Smart Phones, it doesn't look like she has much of a choice. Her daughter didn't like any other Smart Phone, either. She ended up keeping the 6800 for now. Regarding the RAZR 2...we sold out of every piece we were shipped...NO SOFTWARE ISSUES AT ALL! I heard about the problems Verizon had with theirs, but the...

Wombough, based only from what I have read from you, I think you just have an ax to grind about Motorola. Yes, I think Motorolas initially may have some problems from time to time, but I've used nothing but Motos and Nokias since starting cellular service contracts in 1997, and not only have I never had the chronic problems you describe, but I haven't seen them with other folks (customers). Motorola consistantly proves to me that they know more about CDMA than anyone. I have seen more returns for Kyoceras, Samsungs and LG's than all the Motos combined. I will agree with you that the old Moto charging port, the two-prong deal, was a huge mistake, and I am very glad that the situation has been corrected by the USB designs. But tell me, is...

how many people on here post problems with motos? I am talking CDMA ones. I don't care about a company I don't own stock in any of the phones so what do I care. I just go off what I hear from friends and families and on forums. And everyone has issues with them. They have the highest RF radiation of all phones, hardware and software issues.

I have also said I don't understand it because their GSM phones are great. As well as their WCDMA phones here in japan. No one here has anythign bad to say about them either! So don't tell me I have an axe to grind with them.

I personally have found Moto's the best of the lot. But not always, different models have quirks, etc. However you cannot just bash a whole company based on that. Samsungs are probably the worst in my experience, nothing but problems. But I always base any opinion I have on them out of personal experience with that specific model. It would be unfair to brand them all that way.

I checked out the RAZR 2, looks pretty nice, solid phone. It is a little wider then I would like. I have big hands but for what little it is of a step up from the krzr I have and the price difference I don't think I will be getting one unless the price drops enough.

When I hear more complaints from friends and people I know about one brand it tells me something. being in the military I talk to allot of people and everyone has a cell phone. Not to mention issues you see on here about them. No one has complained about samsung on here. But I don't' like samsung for reasons. But not known issues!

You have to keep in mind Moto's are also the most popular, so they would obviously have more people with issues. Well, guess we just have different experiences with phones.

yeah I think that is true as far as being the most popular. But I don't hear anyone complain about any GSM Moto or WCDMA for that matter. The japaneese that work on the base I am at in Japan have nothing but good to say about motos. They like them better then Japanese phones mostly. I am not saying moto is to blame it may be something with the CDMA carriers. I dunno why it just seems that way to me.
