help with smart phone service plan
I bought a palm treo last october - I LIKED IT- no digs please - anywho- I broke it 4 months later. I BROKE IT> it didnt break itself. screen totaly gone- anyway have been using old phone and want a new one. Have been told now I have to have more expensive plan for all smart phones. I want a qwerty keyboard. I love the calendar and organization but never go online. Anybody know anything about the plans or a phone i might like. THANKS!!!

If you upgrade to a smartphone at a discounted price, then you will have to choose a smartchoice plan. If you pay full price or bought ebay / etc, then you dont.

yes yes as stated above if you get the phone from alltel at a discounted rate you need a smart choice plan, I don't see why anybody wouldn't want one, i just upgraded to one, 500 any time min, unlm m2m & text, also nights &weekends start at 7, and you get unlimited data & mycircle, can't beet it if you ask me for 80 or so. I have the HTC 6800, which is being xbm and my replacement should be here on thurs. Hope this one works better mine keeps freezing, well Ebay or craigslist is ur best bets if you are in contract. if you have anymore Q plz ask..

If you had the Treo, you need to decide what you liked, and didn't like about it. OS, design, etc. The 6800/Titan/HTC is 2 hand where the Treo is 1 hand (keep in mind the new Treo is soon to be out, I'm wearing an Alltel one on my hip now). Pic messaging is easier (or exists) on the 6800. Or consider what happened to your last phone and get a Blackberry, which is extremely durable. We gotta know what you want it to do to suggest anything.

I was gona get another palm from ebay but when i called alltel to make sure they would activate it for me they told me that i would have to upgrade my plan. On a family plan now-sharing mins with husband. I guess i should call back and double check what were paying and what it will cost. I used my palm two handed anyway so that other phone the HCT??? actually looks pretty good. Does it picture text? the palm didnt. Also, is it by touch also, i really liked that? How do you know when new phones are coming out? THANKS for the help.

I love the pic messaging on the 6800 i have also used the video messaging with it to my wifes alltel 8600 and my dads VZ Razor, so both work, i am having an issue with mine not returing from standby, but it is being changed out so no biggie there. Yes it is made by HTC other name for it is Titan/Mogul/ppc-6800, Yes it is touch screen based, you just have to be more aware of the issues with touch screens, they are more prone to break if droped than a reg screen as it is softer, I have yet to have issue with mine, i cracked my screen on my 6700 and did an ins swap for my 6800, Any other questions plz ask, I got mine the day after alltel got them out, and love it.
