Working for Alltel Direct was absolute Hell!

Yesterday was my last day working for the Alltel company store in Charlottesville, VA. I am off to what I think will be greener pastures effective this coming Monday. I decided to leave Alltel employ voluntarily since there was little chance of my making required quota, therefore being able to make the money I wanted to make in this store.

I want to state for the record that Alltel has some of the best coverage in the country, and I plan to keep my Alltel personal line, at least for the duration of my contract (5/30/09). However, they adhere to a set of standards which are at best, unfair, and at worst, immoral.

Everyone who works in cellular services gets the bulk of their payout from commissions. I have no problem with that at...

I hope you're not going to another wireless company. It's not any better at other companies. I've worked for T-mobile and Sprint and i made a huge mistake going to Sprint. talk about an a$$ backwards company. Good luck with your new job i hope you are happy. I actually have an interview with Alltel and was checking out the forum for some ideas. Do you guys get yelled at as much as we do??

I actually wasn't looking for another cellular job, but an AT&T indirect approached me. With the very real possibility of being a manager in the near future, I said yes. The fact is, this is probably the best time of the year to be in cellular. With the holidays approaching, I think a lot of people will make money, and I certainly want to be part of that. After the first of the year, I will assess my situation, and decide exactly what I want to do. If the manager's job is what I want, I'll stay. If not, there are other things to consider out here. !
