ALLTEL MERGER AND PEARL MMS
I spoke to a representative on the phone that is out of the headquarters in Arkansas, and she told me that a few Verizon Reps came in and were pretty much letting all the reps which ones were going to stay and leave. She also told me that she was notified that the merger is gonna happen on November 5th of this year, and that the Blackberry Pearl MMS is going to be available on October 27th.

no this the merger happening on november 5thg has nothing to do with the customers, customers will get affected by the merger by another 1 year or so.

The FCC vote is Nov 4th. Then the US-DOJ Antitrust division has to give its blessing. There is absolutely NO WAY IN (BLEEP) the deal can close before mid December at the earliest if the FCC & DOJ pass on it.
As to who stays/goes - they're not even gonna start to work out those details until after the deal closes.

I would wait until you start recieving Verizon bills instead of Alltel bills so you know for sure that you're in Verizon's system and should be able to call other Verizon customers free of charge.
