It is a great service but it does not sell that well cuz it can not be used with Nextel. Quality wise though I do think it is only second to Nextel.

awesome, rated 2nd to nextel but has the largest walkie talkie coverage out of any carrier. Plus it has features no other carrier has like "dont not distrub", I can put a walkie talkie call on hold to answer my phone or make a call and vice versa. I can even put a walkie talkie call on hold to start another one up. You can instant message using your contact list. So I think alltel did an excellant job with walkie talkie, or shall I say, "touch to talk."

Everytime I hear someone refer to PTT, ReadyLink, Touch to Talk, etc. as "Walkie Talkie" it makes me laugh. I always think of David Spade in Tommy Boy:

I think it would go over better if they had a better choice of T2T handsets, many Nextel users are business customers and they need rugged handsets for their employees and the LG just doesn't say "I can take a drop from the cab of the truck"

You are probably right there unfortunately but the 3250 and Kx440 will take a beating though. IN the Tampa area coverage is considerably with Alltel than nextel so that is becoming an option for nextel customers.
