I have these three phones on my hip at all times, the Nokia 6255i, the Motorola v710 and the Blackberry 7250 all with alltel and please do not ask me why I have three phones on my hip all same carrier, I do not even know the answer but from what I have expierenced here and I live in a rural area in NC. The Motorola v710 is superior when it came to signal strength, followed by the blackberry then the Nokia dead last in my books. I was in an area and did not feel like wasting mins on my 710 so I used my Nokia and dropped three calls in a row so ...

If you don't get a strong signal with the V710 you won't get a strong signal with any phone in that particular location. So try the V710. Give it a week or two. You can return it if not satisfied.
