GSM vs Alltel
I was looking at GSM from Cingular and Suncom and the great thing about those companies, if you ever want a new phone, just get one off ebay and switch your sim card back and forth.

But I thought if its still registered with another user or something that your up S**t creek? How does it work? What to look for on Ebay?

You need a ph. that is registered on alltel's network, it needs to be gps capable and that's pretty much the only requirements. Try searching ebay for something like "alltel Cellular phones" something along those lines! unless there is a specific model you want then just type in the model #

Ok you can purchase a CDMA phone like a verizon and I think US Cellular phone and it should work no problem. Now I have seen some ppl use sprint phones but I think those are tricky. Also if you purchase a phone thats active on a Verizon account or any other carrier besides alltel, it will work. If you purchase a phone that is deactivated on alltels network for non payment, take it to your local Alltel store, explain you purchased it off ebay and have them call into RAC so they can release the ESN so you can use it on your account. I do that alot with my customers.
