OK if you are going make a statement like this make sure you know what you are talking about! Alltel had a setback in activations as a result of the Cingular markets they acquired not from poor performance in markets they already are in. This was in large part due to converting the network to CDMA and the bad press they got in these areas.

As for being bought who is this big west coast player you are referring to? to the contrary Alltel is seeking to acquire other smaller carriers such as midwest wireless (see: http://www.redherring.com/Article.aspx?a=1371 9&hed=Verizon%2C+Alltel+Seek+Midwest )

with the eventual sale of their wireline properties I think they will mak...

Completely agree with you bolthead...I wouldn't be suprised to see Alltel buy up a couple regional carriers (please please please let it by Midwest Wireless), or even someone bigger than them. They are gonna be so cash rich after they spin off the wireline, not only will they be a force to be dealt with, there isn't anyone that could afford them.

I agree Alltel can do better, heck ALL providers can do better. As an industry Cell providers have a lot of customer service work to do!

yea, that is true all providers can do better, but alltel needs to do even better becuase they control a limited area, while the bigger guys control a bigger area.
