Alltel / Western Wireless Question
Does Alltel offer any sort of standard upgrade program? Will they offer it to their aquired WW / Cell One customer base?
A friend has Cell One (WW) and signed a new 2 year 4-5 months ago when they added their daughter to their plan. Problem is his phone is now 2 years old and he has 19 months left on his agreement (due to the extention). Currently Cell One said too bad, was hoping Alltel had better customer retention options.
Any ideas?

Well with Alltel they would not force you to sign an agreement to get a rate voice plan so the first part would be nonexistent. I guess the upgrade program is pretty standard. You can upgrade within 90 daysof the end of a contract with a one or two agreement and get the sale price with no upgrade or activation fees. NOw alltel will allow an upgrade if you are in a rate plan change contract and would have been out of an equipment contract until about April when they eliminated contracts on rate plan changes.

Any idea if this will be implemented in the new Western Wireless markets?
Thanks for the info either way.

Yes but probably not until the merger is transitioned and fully running so I guess my real answer is probably not until the first quarter of 06.

some information regarding the integration...
daddy is somewhat right...
WESTERN WIRELESS INTEGRATION GOING WELL. AT closed on the WWCA acquisition on
August 1, 2005. AT just introduced their
nationwide rate plans and handset in WWCA markets last week. The properties are still branded as “CellularOne” with the tag-line “brought to you by ALLTEL.” AT intends to re-brand the properties to the
“Alltel” brand in either Q1 or Q2 of next year.
(AT= Alltel. WWCA=western wireless)
hope that helps.

Thanks, we only get trinkets from the top. I knew it was coming but are still sold seperately.

Yes you can update as of now if your phone is 24 months old. Call 1-800-635-0304 and ask to speak with equipment solutions.
