Razr Reliability
What's the real deal on this phone's reliability. At two Kiosk's in our mall, one sales rep for an Alltel reseller said his broke 3 times and if he had not gotten the insurance he would have been screwed. In another booth, the rep said he would not recommend this telephone.
Both pushed the Moto 710.

Did they have razrs in stock? In sales there is an old saying "SWISS" Sell Whats In Stock Stupid. The 710 was discontinued by Vzw. I'm not sure about Alltel

The V710 is close to end of life where I work. We have a recall on the phone currently to clear out inventory.

No issues that I have seen with the razr. It seems to be pretty reliable. I think they were really out of stock or he is too hard on his phones cuz it does not break that easily. trust me I have dropped mine a few times.

I have no issues with my phone, he was probably pulling your leg. Do you have alltel service now? I know some indirect locations are so low on RAZRs that they are only selling them to new customers and upgrades they will not do. So if it was an upgade then they will try to push something else. I have both the RAZR and the 710 🙂

Which do you like better? This is a Xmas gift for me wife. She and the kids have Alltel. I was on Versizon but they are not down in Wilmington, NC where we live now. I just switched to Cingular today and got the RAZR for net net $20 bucks with 2 year commit. I could really tell the clarity in the voice reception.

Love both phones. If you do not mind spending the extra 100 bones get the razr but if not I personally think the 710 is a great phone also.
