I visited Alltel today and was told that I'd have to get the $59 data unlimited plan with the PPC or Treo 650 due to the fact that it's always on Push technology so it would run over your minutes. And I was also told this $59 data plan would have to be in addition to the already unlimited $19.99 access pass as it does not cover text & photos.

You got some bad info. Data plan is not required but only if you would like to use the full wireless internet functionality of those phones. Also the all axcess pass is not valid on those phones because text and picture go through e-mail and not messaging. So for many features the data is necessary but neither phone has push technology making the data not required. DATA is only required on the blackberry due to push technology.
I will say the treo and audiovox are more usefull with data. I will not push either phone if the customer does not want the data cuz they will not be happy with the phones.

Now you have me totally confused. I would like the PPC phone, and to be able to continue to send unlimited text and pictures, as well as be able to use the built in wireless unlimited. However, I don't want it to use my daytime minutes and I don't want to go over downloaded limits. So I'm confused, please clarify?

Ok well then for that use you will need the data package with the unlimited text for all the uses and applications you mentioned.

You haven't answered any of my questions and have only further confused me, please clarify what each component of the phone uses and what plans

All you asked was if it is required to have the data package for the. The answer was and is still no. The data plan is 59.99 for the unlimited full internet access. The text messaging is 5.99 for 300 texts, 9.99 for 750 or 14.99 for unlimited for text only. THose are the only questions you have asked in this post. If you have further questions then ask but you ask to clarify and you do not specify what you want clarified. Throw me a ****ing bone here.

actually the text plans 300= 5.99 750= 9.99 1500= 14.99 (old unlimited= 24.99) amd the new unlimited= 19.99 the all axcess pass with mobile web. these plans dont matter anyway cause the 6700 doesnt use the axcess messaging service it uses email. so get the unlimeted data plan which is now 39.99 for smart phones which is a drop from 59.99 and u can send txt and pics by email. if ur not gonna get the data plan there is really no point in buying the phone why buy a phone and not use all its features. if the think the data plan is pricey its about the same when people were paying 24.99 for unlimited txt plus 5.99 for mobile web on regular phones. lets not forget the 6700 also uses wi-fi so if u find a hotspot in ur local coffee houses, libr...

Nice, so I would buy the phone, get rid of my $19 all access pass, and add the $39 all data plan. And does this all data plan support unlimited web browsing, downloads, email of photos, etc.?
And if I used the wifi during off peak hours and weekends it doesn't use anytime mins, right?

Your post. Their is no push with those tow phones so if you want internet get it, if not then forget it. 19.99 will not work due to the fact you cannot send mms with these phones-you must use email. Their your answer. What do you say we get some new topics here. THese same questions are continually asked and I have no more answers for you.
