Alltel and Palm OS

I'm Alltel and will stay Alltel...maybe.

I use a Palm TE OS5.1 and like the Alltel Kyocera 7135 but it has Palm OS 4.1 and is about 1.5 year old Technology.

What is Alltel going to offer to replace this model (Treo 600???) and when will it be released?

I have a good buy ($320.00 & no contract) on a new Kyocera 7135 but want to stay on the tech edge. Should I wait?

If you have Verizon in your area, you might consider looking at the new Treo 600. What you might not know is that with V(technically not out yet but they should have a dummy version), you can take advantage of the higher speed data transfers on their 1x network but still use Alltel in other digital areas where V isn't and Alltel is. The drawback is that if you are in analog(at least with that phone) you are out of luck because it is only digital. But with a nice camera and size, it might be worth it.

Nokia is coming out with a palm 5.1 phone late 1st qtr 2005 which with the recent fallout with motorola alltel will be testing. Nokia is really pushing alltel to offer some of their higher in phones. The problem in the past with nokia is they have only offered those higher end phones with tdma carrier. With the recent talk of carrier buy outs and mergers nokia has opened their eyes and making those top shelf phones for both tdma and cdma provider.
