IS ALLTEL BECOMING NATIONAL????
i live in central pa. and alltel hasnt been in my are since waaaayyyy back in the day's early 90's im talking. a few weeks ago i started seeing alltel ads on tv 😳 . the first few i paid no mind to because the channel i was watching wasnt a local channel then BOOM! i flip to another channel and another ad comes. every since then here and there i've been seeing alltel ads on tv none say coming soon or anything of that nature. there isnt any alltel store opening up, and a few family members that like me dont even have alltel in their area say the samething.
is alltel trying to become a national carrier or are these ads just being run for the fun of it?

They've been playing quite a few ads in my area as well. It seems like the ads are being run nationally even though the service isn't offered nationally.

yeah i've noticed that! I'm in Nashville Tennessee and there is no alltel service until you get to almost virginia but I still see those ads no TV.. the one with the sprint,cingular,verizon guy and tmobile girl is SO FUNNY!!!

Best I can tell, they're still a Tier2 carrier... They're so small you can't even get service with them in Orlando, FL... HAHAHAHA!

What I find strange is, I am in Minnesota, an I haven't seen a single alltel commercial on TV and they have been in Minnesota for a few months now. 😕

Alltel isn’t national, however, with roaming deals that it has been getting (sprint and cingular) it will allow it to grow its footprint without spending the extra money, which in a way gives them a sorta nationwide footprint. They are going to be rapidly growing as soon as their spinoff has been 100% completed so they would be able to focus on wireless.

They found it was cheaper overall to advertise directly in syndication instead of seperate local networks in alltel markets only. So thats why they show up everywhere, and I beleive as a side effect this helps to make them look bigger than they really are

All i know is alltell has to hire cheap stunt doubles of other carriers because they are so ****y they cant afford to hire their own people!
