Does anyone know when Alltel is going to come close to having internetwork handoffs? It is very frustrating that I STILL cannot drive from one market to another without a dropped call! Sorry to say, but Verizon has got this problem fixed on their own network.

I was surprised that when I was on a call in 2004, my phone on Verizon got handed off to an Alltel tower with no problem, but unfortunately, it was from a Verizon digital tower to an Alltel analog tower at the state line crossing into Michigan. Yeah as long as you are on an interstate or in town (in small towns there is no signal either). Get on side roads or rural areas there are no towers to be found.
As far as for Cingular, I've been there done that. Thanks goodness I found Alltel.

That area should be digital Alltel signal now...I've been on the vzw towers after they bought Cricket in Kalamazoo. In the city it's great, outside along the highway it is adequate. 2 bars moslty.
