I work for alltel in Ohio and the Razr is just about the best reception phone we carry. WE just got the pantech so its hard to say how good it is. you may want to do *228 because there is a new Software out there that is causing problems and that will reset your razr.

If you have the razr and you are considering this phone you are crazy. Just by my experience...the digital only phones (smartphones, 815 and v3c) get a stronger signal then the trimode phones. I currently work in an area that has a lot of weak areas and the digital only phones get MUCH better signal. Can't explain but I have seen it!

There are two trains of thought on Digital only and trimode phones. Digital Only phones seem to pick up better in areas where there are all three signals for a phone to pick up. Digital Only seems to work better because it doesn't have to fight with itself over which signal is going to work better at that time. But if you are in an area with no digital towers a digital only phone may as well be an expensive rock. For that situation you need the analog and tdma part of the phone to work. The good news is that in many rural areas the towers are new, so digital is working a lot better in many more places than the trimode. Hows that for a semi explanation.
