Sending Email on Alltel 6700

I just got the 6700 with Alltel. Had one with Sprint and wanted the better coverage in my area and the EVDO.

Now I am having problems with email. Sprint had a outgoing mail server but I am told Alltel does not.

I was told to use the normal incoming and outgoing mail server. I cannot send email this way. I seem to need a Alltel outgoing mail server.

One of my email accounts is bellsouth. I cannot send email on that account or any of my accounts.

Anyone have any pointers?

Thanks

As far as your BellSouth e mail account is concerned, give their technical support to get the POP3 and SMTP server configuration settings. Alltel Wireless should be able to assist you in setting up the default e mail account that comes with your service with them. I'd suggest going into the nearest Alltel Wireless corporate retail store with your UTStarcom PPC-6700. Sad they already discontinued the device.

switch to verizon. that's the best advice you could ever get for a 6700 or any pda or smartphone. 🙂

The only difference between Verizon and Alltel is that Verizon has more money. That is it. Alltel builds their network just as well for both data and voice. The Customer service is pretty much the same. The pricing is better with Alltel. If you are able to get Alltel you should pick them. If you are in an are where you can't, then pick Verizon.
