Coming back to Alltel after my nightmare with Sprint.......

Just wanted to share with you guys (and gals) about my experience with Sprint. I had to port from Alltel over to Sprint in July due to business reasons and you just couldn't believe what I have been through. I put two phones on a family plan with my phone being a Sanyo RL-4930. Seemed like a great plan and great phone. First 30 days went without a hitch. After that, things started falling apart really quick. My phone wouldn't ring and I couldn't' send/receive txt messages and/or they would get 'qued' for periods of up to 8 or more hours. Went back to the store (Edmond Oklahoma) and advised them of my problems and they replaced my phone with a new one. The problems did not go away. I repeated this process going to the store 4 different ti...

THATS THE SPRINT PCS I KNOW AND USE TO WORK FOR. only work for trial period and then down hill from there

Maybe if you kept having the same problem even after replacing the phone, then the phone is not the problem??? It was probably an issue w/ the network at the time. There will be issues with any WIRELESS network, not just Sprint.

Well duh!! 😳 I realize it was a network problem and realized that after the 2nd phone. My point was not only did the network crap out after the trial period, but they wouldn't even try out other phone models. They said there was only one other model in my phones category to replace mine with and that was an older phone. Plus I wouldn't get my money back for my present new phone. Their $150 credit they gave me towards a different model of phone would only get me a cheaper phone than what I already had and the tech people at the Sprint store did not recommend any of them. I would have to spend more money on top of the $150 credit for a different model of phone!! And I realize there are issues with every network. I have been with them all...

dont alltel and sprint have a roaming agreement?
...
Yes they do. But if one network is built better then another you can tell. Dropped calls, poor in building coverage. Also a phone will latch onto the last bit of signal it can from it's native towers often times an unusable signal. Even if the free roaming partner has full signal it would take loss of any and all signal to switch over to Alltel.

Ya the have a roaming argeement... But it helps sprint way more than it helps alltel... With the new PRL "606" is in the second spot so your phone won't even get on a sprint tower unless there is not an Alltel tower or a Verzion tower around... SO basiclly sprint SUCKS!!! As far as network goes!!! And the ONLY reason that they got moved up for the thrid spot to the second is because almost all there towers have EVDO.... 😁

Supposedly Sprint has the largest voice network in the US...
This is based on the info they state in their most recent television ad...
...
The only way they can seriously claim that is if they include roaming partners. Or they include all of the iDen Nextel towers and the Sprint CDMA towers combined.
...
And the combined might not be larger then Alltel's....
