Motorola Text Messaging Issues
I'm having trouble with my text messaging. I can always receive and send messages to my friends with Alltel but I'm having trouble with other carriers. Sometimes when I send messages it looks like it went out but my friends didn't receive them and the same thing happens when they send me messages. My one friend has Cellone and when I send messages to him it gives me an error: Sending Failed Status 98 Invalid Destination. He has sent me messages that I never received either. I made sure his number was correct in my phonebook. He has no problems receiving or sending messages from other people. I called Alltel and they "don't see anything unusual". Anyone else have trouble with text messaging?

I've always had trouble, it takes forever for people to receive the messages, sometimes days later and for me to receive them. It's Alltel and the towers.

yeah i have had issues too like getting 5 of the same message, or sometimes i get this message that says "Stop your message has not been sent" I also cant recieve picture messages and many of my texts come days later!!

This is likely because you are not in constant contact with the data network. The data network and voice network are two different things. You might have voice coverage but be just out of reach of the data coverage.

No, it's not. You are likely out of the data coverage or on the fringe of it. Just because you have voice coverage does not mean you have data coverage.
The problem the OP is having is related to compatibility issues between Cellone and Alltel. They have make sure they have a standard to convert the text message and send it to the other carrier. Alltel has this with most major carriers, but not some smaller ones like Cell one.

Alltel likely does not have an agreement with Cellular One, and Cellular One doesn't have an agreement with Alltel to deliver text messages. Alltel has this with most major and some smaller carriers. But I do not believe they have it with Cellular One.
