Alltel In Denver?
I see plenty of alltel ads here In the mile high city on tv for alltel, however I checked the website just to see what kind of coverage they have, and it says they dont offer any service at this time to Denver.
So why would they be advertising so much here?

If it's on local TV, there might be a chance in neighboring counties that Alltel offers service. I have never been in South Bend Indiana enough to know if Alltel advertises on South Bend TV stations, simply because neighboring Michigan Counties within the South Bend TV market have Alltel. If you see it on cable TV or satellite channel, then it's a national ad, and it's cheaper to advertise nationally than to advertise in individual ...

There's also this little rumor going 'round about Alltel aquiring spectrum licenses for Denver.
It could be the same thing that was done in Miami, and being done in New York, currently. Trying to whet the appitite for the services and features.

not true. Chicago gets plenty of Alltell ads and they dont offer any service near here.

I have yet to see an Alltel ad on my local stations. I live in the Chicago broadcasting area in Gary Indiana. On cable TV, when watching in the living room, I will occasionally see ads for businesses that aren't in my area. Sonic is one of those businesses. But I have not seen an Alltel commercial at all, neither on local TV, or the cable channels.

Well we probably aren't watching the same things. My event reps love the commercials (which takes shots at sprint, verizon, cingy and t-mob), and I think they're entertaining. I'm not in advertisng, so I don't know exactly why, but I see the f#*%ing commercials multiple times a day. My dad lives near the wisconsin border and asked me about Alltell all the time. Btw I really want to try Sonic too.

Most likely we're not watching the same programs. The only times I've seen an Alltel commercial has been if someone on phonescoop.com, or howardforums.com, posts a link to a site that has an Alltel commercial. But for the few that I've seen, they're good. As for up in Wisconsin, particularly around Milwaukee, I rarely watch TV up there since I'm usually not near a TV, but for the few times I've been to a bar up in Milwaukee, I've seen more annoying Verizon Wireless commercials that don't always get aired in Chicago, especially commercials for the V-Cast service.
