Kyocera M1000

OMG I never thought i would say this but i want this kyocera! It is soooooooooooooo sweet... so i am up for a new phone in the end of may... I absolutely despise flip phones, and so that limits my phones to like 3, the Q, sliver (if it ever comes out) or the Kyocera M1000 (when it comes out) so my question is does anyone have any info.... I absolutely love nokias so I will be keeping my 6235 and this phone and switching back and forth when i get tired of one.... I am so excited! thankd!

My text messaging is screwed up

Hey, when i first switched over to alltel i used txt all the time with no problems. I switched to a bigger plan and ever since my messages have not been working right. I will always get a txt somebody sends me. But ones that i send out will not usually get there until a few days later. Im sending the messages to a cingular customer. I have the v3m. She has a sony ericson about 1 year old or so. I called alltel and they checked over my account and everything is fine there. We both power cycle our phones regularly. Anybody have trouble with this? Anybody know anything that i can do? Thanks

Alltel Launches Franklin CDU550 USB Data Card

Highlights of the memo:

On Thursday, April 5, 2007, Alltel will launch the Franklin CDU550 USB data card.

A $50.00 mail-in rebate will be available for customers with a two-year service agreement.

Features of the Franklin CDU550 include:
USB Type A connection - fits standard USB ports on laptops and desktop PCs
Hinged Antenna Rx Diversity - internal and external antenna to support better coverage
Windows 2000 and XP support

I'm not sure about you guys, but I've been waiting for a USB data card for a couple of months now. I would imagine that a patch for Vista is around the corner, or will be ready by launch tomorrow.

Question

...If I already have an account and a phone from Alltel, and I buy one that's Alltel-compatible off of, let's say Ebay, can I go in and get the old one deactivated and the new one activated without an extra charge, if I can get the phones switched at all?

New phones releasing Thurs 4/12, NOW its 5/3

Samsung r510 "the wafer"

1.3 mp camera, non flip, really thin, its OK at best, but its a samsung...so check out this phone in May and see if its worth $70 w/ 2 yr.

Samsung "Snap"

flip VGA camera phone, good aero-dynamics if user decides to huck it across the room (which is what you'll want to do with it)

(hype is you can use the camera to compose a MMS from a hand-writing message. I've tried the phone out, it's crap, but hey, it's gonna be $10 w/ 2yr, so what do you expect... What I don't understand is: what is stopping ANY camera phone user from taking a pic of a hand-written note and sending a pic mms to another user...this is def. groundbreaking tech here.

Stay with Alltel...Or switch?

I love Alltel...love love love. I work for Cingular's tech support, and, lets face it, their customer service is horrible. Here's what I love about Alltel:
Customer Service; I could talk to those people all day.
Coverage; absolutely amazing
Phones; I love that alltel (with most phones) will wait for other carriers to have certain phones (ie. V3) so that they can figure out what NOT to order that phone with, or if they should at all.

The problem:
I've been with alltel for almost 5 years and I've come to realize that, even though their phones have all the bugs worked out by the time they start selling them, there aren't really a lot of phones to choose from on a constant basis. I'm wanting a Data Device right now and I'm upgrade elig...

New phone problems

A friend just got an Alltel prepaid phone which immediately upon activation was inundated with voicemail and possibly other messages which very soon left him with little in his account. He back and forthed with Alltel a couple of times and they recharged his account and blocked certain features (voicemail perhaps). Anyway, I'm wondering if they gave him a number that someone else had discarded because they were fed up with the junk calls? Is what happened to him known to happen with Alltel prepaid phones? Thanks

Motorola Q Info...

okay. Its official

The Motorola Q is 199.99 with a $100 mail-in rebate. The $20 Mail-in rebate on the Motorola Bluetooth h700 is also official.

I like the phone. But I think the battery life is JUNK. jmho (and my data support guys opinion).

I highly recommend a second battery.

Alltel purchasing/buyout info

I posted this on another thread. And I typed a lot so I figured I would paste it under its own thread so it gets seen. I can't reply while I'm at work later today. But I'll check back in after the grind and try and answer any questions, or debates started up.

Keep in mind, this is NOT Alltel's viewpoint, but mine. And it should NOT be take that anything here is anything more than internal rumors (minus a couple public knowledge number things)

Enjoy! 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁

Contrary to popular belief. Its not LIKELY to be bought out.

Alltel has invested billions of dollars into network development, phone upgrades, EV-DO network sharing agreements and other things.

With the sale of its home phone service...
