analog and vibration feature

does anyone know why the vx4400 goes to analog in a fully digital area? This seems to happen quite often. What is up with the vibration feature? Did lg have a moment of brain freeze, when they designed this?

press menu 0 then 000000 goi into force mode and select cdma only this will stop the phone from going into analog
