the IMEI is located under the battery or by pressing *#06#

Also, is MetroPCS a reseller for anyone? I don't see any mention of them in my unlocking code calculator.

I don't see IMEI; I see esn FCC ID, ESN, CODE,& ESN HEX#'s.
I can't get past the security code in order to enter *#06#.

Also what do you mean by reseller? Hey bro I'm a chef so 'scuse my ignorance...

ah, that's not a GSM phone, i'm talking about unlocking so you can use any carrier's SIM card in your phone... sounds like you're using CDMA, which is a whole different story.

as for unlocking so like, you can use the phone, I can't help you there, you'll need to contact your service provider

a reseller is someone who does just that, they re-sell someone else's service.. for example, virgin mobile resells sprint pcs, because virgin mobile phones connect to sprint's towers.

My phone is unlocked, but I expect to get a new GSM phone next month.
So right now I am interested to know how this locking/unlocking works technically.
Does anyone know? Is this based on ecryption?
is the unlock code just IMEI encrypted with carrier's private key?
