Brand new Razr, 3 days old and am having to continually remove/replace battery in order for text-messaging to work, and for voicemail notice to show up in my message center. Cingular says it's software related..anyone else experiencing these kinda problems?

After 15 years fidelity to ericsson I bought the motorola Razr V3 four month ago. (End March 2005)
All-round I’m very happy with it. 🙄
Difficult in the beginning for the configuration – very bad users manuel
The big problem I have and still have is the poor battery life, less than 24 hours stand by and less than 1.45 hours talk time, in normal reception conditions.
Far away from the 180 to 290 hours standby and between 200 and 430 minutes talk time!!!
I have to bring it back twice for upgrade and replacement of an IC RF amplifier?
It is little bit better but still less than 36 hours and still less than 2 hours talk time
Does somebody improve the same problems?
And what is the solution.

lockline does cover the razr, they just don't guarantee color.
...
I just got off the phone with cingular and it does indeed turn out that the RAZR has been able to be insured since July 18th. My bad.
...
lock line will cover the razr now. get the insurance and get another phone
...
Why did you pay for insurance to fix it when you could have had it warrantied for less $?
...
yeah the same thing for my V300. So many people complained about thier V300 but I have never had any of those issues with my phone. Maybe you and I got the cream of the crop with our moto phones.
...
moto makes some of the WORST phones. the razr is actually one of their better phones. i don't think that you honestly have any clue especially with your name you made up, and you must have t mobile, and they have the WOSRT service.
...
Cingular has the worst service and the worst phones, and the worst customer service ever!
My V30 works fine with no trouble. I know that others have had problems with thiers...anyways, why should you care? You're just a vicious Cingular rep anyways.
...
i am not vicious cingular rep. t-mobile has so much less service areas than cingular so your statements cannot be validated. motorola has some of the highest defect ratios than any other manufacturer. get your info straight.
...
I have not experienced any of those problems. Besides T-Mobile has great customer service, Cingular does not. I have JD Power to back me up on that one!!!!!!!!!!!
...
had one of the first v3's that cingular sold. both screens went out last week. (inside and out) called and cingular sent one out next day for under 8 dollars. only paid freight. not too shabby!
...
cingular is great with that, the razr is the best moto phone we've had in years. the rest are GARBAGE
...
and so are you, What's your point?
...
once again not directed towards you, stop following me around.

megs, I have a Moto Razr and a iPAQ PDA-Phone on T-Mobile and strongly disagree with your remarks about their service. Their data service far exceeds anything Cingular, Nextel or US Cellular were ever able to offer me - and I am not just talking about some sales persons pitch, I have actually used these services. Nextel could not even get emails to my PDA, and Cingular only recently (last 12 months) added PDA’s to their lineup. But all that said… I have had some coverage issues when in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont using T-Mobile, but TBH the only service that did cover Maine was US Cellular; and the other two are (or were on my last visit) just about unusable – period.
So I think you need to evaluate the other providers more closel...

I agree with iloveMOTO...it seems to me with most of the Motorola phones I've owned so far, it's like a game of chance...you don't know what issue you will or won't have with the phone until you start using it. For example, I've had a Moto V300 (always froze up--kept on taking the battery out; sometimes, it would shut off by itself); V600 (froze up the first 2 times I used it; was alright afterwards; was kinda slippery on the outside, so I dropped it quite a few times; looked good before it was dropped); C330 (not sure if I have the correct model number--but it was that white and blue cheesy little phone--the WORST); and now I own a RAZR, and so far--don't have any problems. However, I recommend for anyone who plans to use this phone on a c...

That is what is so odd, my phone has never frozen up before and I have mine since April. I did have a Nokia 3595 that always froze up, but i got rid of that buggy phone!
I think all Motos should have the protective leather case. i keep mine on my phone at all times and my phone still looks brand new.
...
it is amazing that with all the problem phones you've had with moto that you keep coming back. at least i think they got it right with the razr, your loyalty paid off, i would have ditched moto after two different models gave me issues.
...
I dont understand why someone with all the problems that you guys state you have had would own moto phones. then to gripe because you have had problems with all of them? The only real trouble that I had with a moto phone was with the v600, and all of us knew when we bought it that it had bugs. So ummm go buy a nokia or one of the other brand of phones that dont offer the things that the moto does. I have a V505 and I am very happy with it. If any of you know, the razor has had numerous reports of not being durable. If you read some of the other forums in other places then you will find that. If you are a true moto die hard then you will take the good with the bad.

In response to theclarks1: I've also owned Nokias (3390, 3595, an old 6100 series, and when I was on AT&T, the one that was a candybar flip that turned into a keyboard); and I've also owned a Samsung. Nokia, for the most part--one of the few good things that I can say about them is that their phones have excellent battery life; it's a durable phone; and it's a good text messaging phone. Samsung (in my opinion) was kinda cheesy--as far as the voice and speaker quality. Although I've had a few issues with the Motorola phones I've owned in the past (what phone makers can you name out there that didn't produce at least one phone that had at least one glitch), I guess you can say that I've been a die-hard Moto fan--and this has been since pagers ...

My works excellent. Works better than the V620 that I had before. The worst phone I've ever used? The ultimate P.O.S. Sony Ericsson K700i. No wonder I hate S.E. My V3 is a Euro-spec phone (the one with the crazy metal box). If I be able to report insurance on it? Anyone? Please? 😢

Can a unlocked V635 be configured for the old AT&T mmode and other services by going to the Cingular AT&T users site and selecting the V600 settings to send the configuration over the air?
...
Yeah I have a v600 with mMode settings on it, tell me what you need and I will provide.
