Motorola

I have had my V80 for 7 months now. I've never dropped it, never got it wet, never had any previous problems. All of a sudden almost everytime I swing open the phone it freezes. Everytime I get an incoming call it freezes. Before this is was working fine. Could it be the battery or the firmware??? I'd hate to just lose a $300 phone. I'm thinking about flexing it to v600 firmware and seeing if that works. Any help would be appreciated.
