Allpromoto update
Ok, so I just called customer service for the Allpromoto promotion. I qualified for Tier 4 on the prize scale and chose the MPx220 as my free phone. Here's what they told me.
Supposedly Moto had many thousands of prizes to ship and have "ran out of MPx220's". Winners who have not yet recieved thier MPx220 prizes should be getting an e-mail from Moto soon (sending out a batch today from what I'm told) allowing them to choose a different phone to expedite the orders. If you still want to recieve an MPx220 you can do so, but it will take longer. The rep was unable to tell me what the options for different phones were....here's hoping that at least one is the RAZR (it's comparably priced regardless of having less features). Granted I'd ...

further update. I just checked my e-mail and it's true. I got the consolation e-mail and they only offered one phone as a different option......the V3! Granted there aren't as many features and the OS is proprietary, but there aren't any firmware or sound issues to deal with either. And the best part is IT'S FREE!!! 😎

I got the same thing, and I'm willing to bet it wasn't that they ran out of MPX220's but rather the software problem they've been having with them.

I'm willing to bet the same thing. When you make a phone for a nationwide distributor like Cingular what are the chances that you'll run out of them? Aside from initial release rushes that is. Not to mention that they knew ahead of time that there would be thousands of contestants (based on previous contests).
I called back to confirm that changes had been made after I reselected (I'd rather have a RAZR with no problems than an MPx with faulty software). I dug in a little and the rep admitted that Moto's upgrading the software on the MPx and it's gonna take longer than expected. Orders from this reselection will begin shipping on or after the 19th of May.

it was a sales promotion, you have to be a rep to qualify and then register, take a quiz and sell a buncha Moto's
