Motorola V710

I am interested in buying a Motorola V710, previously used on Verizon. I have US Cellular and want to change the phone to work on US Cellular. The USC reps say "no" and that is all (that it cannot be done). After doing some searching on the net Ive heard two things. 1- It cant work bc the serial numbers are different and the phone has Verizon software (does that matter). 2- It can be done if the phone is unlocked. Which is true? Can anyone help.

The only way to get an unlocked one is by buying it direct from Motorola. I wouldnt try it, plus, the V710 sucks.

I wouldn't sa the 710 sucks, so much as I would side with the 815being a better version of the same. The software does matter. It's how the phone knows to contact USC towers/Mitso's instead of VZW towers/MITSOs.
