this is just my opinion but does it seem like moto phones (on the verizon network) are going downhill with quality. the reception seems to still be doing good but as far as duarbility in the phones it seems like they really dont seem to sturdy. the 710 started off as a big hit but then once it got some use, people really werent happy with it

the 265 looked like it was going to be a decent phone but once you hjelp it and played with it, it really wasnt that great.

the 120e was a popluar one and seemed to take quite a beating but still it was very basic and not a favored phone.

the 720/730 was just a joke. one of the first color screens and it the optioning in it was just terrible. you couldnt do much else with this phone. also the ...

Motorola Phones have been a pain in the ass for any one that does customer care for any wireless provider.

I agree that most phones start off with a bang, the signal strength on a Motorola phone can not be compared. But for functionality the devices are not user friendly, the menus for people are complicated, especially the MPX series (MPX200 Smartphone for example).

The programing on the TDMA phones was way to complicated. For anyone over the age 25, having to press Menu 073887* in 16 seconds was the biggest headache I can remember having in my years of customer care experience.

I could go one but I don't have all night, I will just finish off saying is I hate Motorola I will not even recommend one to a customer if my job depen...

wow thats terrible! yeah now that you mention it the menus on the inside are terrible. just the way everything is set up.

but there is hope! i went to a convention and i saw one of the new moto phones coming out for verizon and i opened it and it looked like the 7000. i asked the guy what that was all about and he said that verizon now wants all phones for verizon to have the same interface. so that does simplify things. the moto rep wasnt too pleased with this. i was quite happy about it though! 🙂

Regarding menus and being complicated "especially" on the MPx series. They use the Microsoft OS and Microsoft menus. That would be true of any MS OS powered phone, so it is not reasonable to attribut that to Motorola. Now I'm not saying the Moto OS is that great, but MS smartphone OS is overly complicated to no fault of Motorola.

I will agree with that but being a CSR trying to get computer/wireless ignorant customers to understand, was a curse I am glad the phone was out of most peoples price range so I did not have to deal with it that often.

a couple of months ago a moto rep came to my store
purchased a vx4700
purchased a vx8000 at retail
they use them to study why customers like them...

i could tell they did that on the mot 710...the menu is easier(with the icon layout) than th eold 720

i think their menu has improved leaps and bounds over their past 720 and 120....but their 'fun' features need to improve
like changing outside color screen options...stupid crap
it sounds dumb but it'll put them over that edge...from customer feedback

as far as durability...i'll be honest with you...my lg 4400 was strong as hell...nothing could crack it
i noticed th enew lg phones the outside displays crack pretty easy
my 7000 did
the moto 710...same things

its just how the n...

honestly, i prefer the menu of the 7000. im glad to know that all verizon phones will have the same menu now.

the 710 menu is just a lil complicated. just a few extra steps into doing things. i like to just click a button and be there. i love my 7000!
